Our mission is to make our customers feel welcome, assist them with their selections, and offer great products for a fair price.  Our fun atmosphere and continuous additions of new products keep our customers returning.  We believe that by giving choices, The Shadberry will be their favorite location for their offsale, whether they live in the north country or  traveling through to another destination.

Who We Are

The Shadberry became a reality after spending a few years in the developing stage and realizing what was a good fit in the community to serve the many residents, visitors and seasonal cabin owners. 

The concept was tossed around, adding ideas, products, learning the process and pursuing the perfect opportunity to start such a business.

  The time arrived, wine became more popular and the need for the retail store in the area was about to become a reality.

 The building was planned and construction began in 2003 in Outing, Minnesota next door to

Owls N' Things Ice Cream Shop.

Shadberry - The fruit of the serviceberry.

Serviceberry - Any of various North American trees and shrubs of the rose family sometimes cultivated for their showy white flowers or edible purple or red fruits

As we are known today,

    The Shadberry             Wine & Spirits.

Wine was the main driving force behind the business starting up but soon requests, needs of the area, and an overall large customer base made it more than a wine shop.  We now carry a vast variety of inventory of cordials, spirits and beer along with our wines.  We  always welcome requests from our customers for their  favorites and do our best to put them on the shelf.

Since our inception, May, 2004, we continue to grow thanks to our great customers.
